This provocative image invites many interpretations: the peaceful embrace of Muslims by the American society; the collision of political Islam and the US government; our country's fight against terrorism and the global jihad; and now recently, our government's desire to interfere in Muslim countries' civil wars, inevitably helping to create new Islamic regimes, as in Egypt. Above all, Stephen wants to encourage a conversation about Islam and politics. We musn't be afraid of the use of Islamic symbols or the discussion of Islam. Freedom of speech is a cornerstone of American values. Those who abuse the term "Islamophobia" try to shut down the conversation, but it is important that we examine the rise of political Islam around the world and its interaction with Western democracy and our liberal, humanist values.

With the grave and growing threat of regional or world war by Iran's race for a nuclear bomb, we must speak out against our government's, and the world's complacency. Iran's efforts to create a nuclear weapon has now been admitted by the head of the IAEA. According to King Abdullah of Jordan, there will be a major war in the Middle East within a year, unless we do something to change the dynamics in the region. We need to put these stickers where our government servants will see them.

P R O P E R T Y O F C H I N A 5.5 x 5.5" (4 x 4" rotated), vinyl sticker This sticker is part of Stephen's continuing theme of protest against borrowing money from China to solve our own credit crisis, as he did in his Bailout For America project. This administration is mortgaging our future by borrowing huge amount of money from China simply to keep the lights on. According to CNN, the Obama administration will set a record $5 trillion in deficits in just four years, dwarfing President Bush's deficits of $3.4 trillion in eight years. Congress is unable to balance a budget without enormous cash infusions from other countries, and this must stop. So, every peice of government property should now bear these stickers to show their real ownership.

The Age of Cheap Oil is coming to an end after only one hundred years, and we are woefully unprepared for the big changes coming soon. Every giant Hummer, every huge McMansion, every jumbo jet carrying packages overnight is just another sign that we live in a Petroleum Nation.
