A major retrospective solo exhibition of Barnwell's political prints at the Sloan Gallery at Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, PA. Forty-seven works will be on display, spanning fifteen years. Opening is on Monday, October 22 at 6 pm with an artist's talk, open to the public.

Praise for Capital Offenses

Antarctica Arts announces that its publication of Capital Offenses, a monograph of Stephen Barnwell political art, was named one of the Best Books of 2014 by Publisher's Weekly. Only five independently-published books received this prestigious commendation in 2014, and we are certainly very pleased to be so honored.

The World Conquest project

Stephen took this image, and made 100 lawn signs. He planted them all over the NY tri-state area in public places, making a photographic record as he went.

The Bailout for America Project
July 4, 2010

Stephen sent each and every member of Congress an open letter, accompanied by a limited edition print of his Indebted States of America note. The letters arrived at the Congressional offices by July 4, 2010.

Stephen Barnwell

Stephen Barnwell’s prints have been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe, including the Palais de Tokyo Contemporary Art Museum in Paris, the Lahti Art Museum in Finland, the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in California, and the Andrew Kreps Gallery in New York City.  Mr. Barnwell’s prints are in private collections in all fifty US states as well as in fifty-one countries around the globe. A set of his political prints is in the permanent collection of the Center for the Study of Political Graphics in Los Angeles and the Lake Eustis Art Museum in Florida.
